Newport School, Leytonstone.
We carried out major refurbishment works both internally and externally at
this school.
Internally we removed several load baring walls working closly with the
structural engineer to ensure we carried out all work to current standards
and approval.
This allowed us to create an open area which is being used as a nursery.
There were new sink units (child height) supplied and fitted in classrooms
for the children.
The classrooms were decoarted in lead free paint to ensure the childrens
safety.
New non slip flooring and carpets were fitted.
We made an opening and fitted a fire door to create a new exit.
Externally we excavated the playground and brought back to level and
installed a safer surface (this is a rubber surface you will have seen in
playgrounds and parks) for the children to play on. There were also steps
built up for access to new fire exit.
New railings supplied and fitted around new step.
This project was approx £115k and was completed in 8 weeks.
